Anniversary Photos in Paris

Being married to a photographer has a lot of perks. Our life tends to be well documented, and events with extended family often turn into photo shoots where everyone gets something for their Christmas card, or a new profile photo.

When we booked this trip to France, I knew we would be going home with some great photos at the end, but I realized that getting non-selfie photos of the two of us together might be a bit tricky. How many times could we set up a tripod and stand back and pose, before just giving up so we could get out of people’s way?

When booking lodging on Airbnb, I noticed the “Experiences” tab in the app, and found a ton of listings for photographers offering one-hour shoots in Paris! We both felt like it was a great idea and started searching for someone whose photographic style we could feel confident about. Brent was much harder to impress than I was, as expected. We eventually found a photographer named Alex, and his photos were exactly what we were looking for. We reached out and were relieved when he was available for one of our days in Paris. As much as we love the Eiffel Tower and could have chosen to do photos there, we wanted mix it up by shooting at a different venue to take advantage of the gorgeous autumn foliage. The Louvre is a marvelous backdrop that’s right next to a beautiful park, Jardin des Tuileries, so that was the spot. We met at sunrise and the lighting was very good to us! Alex did a fantastic job putting us at ease, making us laugh, and getting our good angles. We had a wonderful time, and are so pleased with the photos he took.
