Introducing Torin Andrew
Torin Andrew Billings
Born: 4 April 2021 (Easter baby!)
Weight: 6 pounds, 11 ounces
Length: 19.5 inches
We’ve had a lot of questions about how we came up with the name. His due date came and went and we still hadn’t agreed on a name, but we had a list of potential options and figured we’d name him after meeting him. Over dinner that night in the hospital, we went through the list and narrowed it down. Torin was a name we both liked (inspired by our dear friend Torin Browning). It is Celtic for “little hills” or “chief,” and Brent’s name is English for “hill” or “royalty,” so that seemed like a great connection, too. The middle name, Andrew, was actually Brent’s original first name before being adopted, and means “manly.”
Our prayer for little Torin is that he will grow and lead in a way that points others to God. We hope he can represent masculinity in its truest form, which Jesus models: a strength that looks like courage, humility, and love for others.
